Brian Demidovich is the Owner/Managing Attorney at The Law Corner which he created in 2006. Brian became a family law attorney since being admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 2004. He is very familiar with the Domestic Relations Law in North Carolina and has over a decade of experience as both a litigator in the courtroom and as an attorney settling cases through negotiation, mediation and collaboration. Besides Brian’s own personal experience of being raised in a divorced family, over the years, Brian has seen the toll litigation takes on clients and their families, especially the children. “You really need to look at a separation/divorce holistically. I love mediation because I am helping more than “my client”, I am helping the entire family dynamics. This bring me more satisfaction than any trial or hearing that I have won.”
He says, “I don’t wish the time and expense of litigation on anyone. It can easily reach 12-18 months and in excess of $40,000. Brian is adamant that “no one wins in litigation, except maybe the lawyers”. If you must separate, there is a better way. A more human way, a more respectful way.”
Brian became a Certified Family Financial Mediator in 2013 and solely dedicates his profession to helping families separate through family mediation or collaboration. “I love helping people, as a mediator, I help at least two individuals or an entire family start over. There are many things to consider when separating, some legal, some emotional, always financial and you need someone who is experienced to help navigate you through this difficult time. It brings me great satisfaction that I help folks through a difficult time, and I try and make it as painless as possible.”
To be a good mediator, you must have compassion and be a good listener. Since 2006, Brian has dedicated himself to serving his clients with compassion. That is reflected in his 24-hour return contact policy that he strictly maintains today and the $99 initial consultation that dates to 2006 when The Law Corner was first established. “It’s something you have or don’t have. I have always had it, back to the days when I was working in the social work services industry between 1990 and 1998. When I changed industries, it was second nature.” Brian takes pride in helping people. It will be his legacy.
